The Australian Women’s Water Polo Team, Aussie Stingers, have named their squad for the up coming camp to be held 25-31 October at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).
As the domestic water polo season kicks into full gear, representative players also have their sights set on the next international season.
The senior squad members will also welcome three members of the Born 2000 squad, Abby Andrews, Sophie Milliken and Carla Traplin, who are already preparing for the Youth World Championships next year.
Aussie Stingers Head Coach, Sakis Kechagias said he is looking forward to getting his squad together to prepare for the 2018 international season.
“We have a lot of work to do coming out of the 2017 season and it will be good to have the squad together before they commence National Water Polo League season,” Kechagias said.
“Our first Tournament will be the World League Intercontinental Tournament in Auckland in early April.
“The camp will be a great opportunity not only for the senior players, but some of our B2000 squad members who will have the chance to learn from their peers and experience a senior camp environment.
“I am also pleased to welcome the coaches from the Women’s National Water Polo League teams, who will be attending two nights. It is important for us Coaches to be working together and I am looking forward to meeting them all,” he said.
