Age when began competing in your sport: I filled in one game when I was 6 but started competing in my own team when I was 10. My sister’s U14 team was short on players and they got me to fill in the numbers. I spent the game swimming away from everyone … the rest is history!

Any superstitions or rituals before competition: Avoid walking under ladders and black cats

Most memorable sporting achievement: Winning Gold at the 2007 Junior World Championship

Any relatives/spouses who have competed internationally: My sisters Taniele Gofers and Allira Hudson-Gofers and my brother in law David Hudson

If so, who and what sports: Taniele Gofers in water polo and European handball, Allira Hudson-Gofers in European handball and beach handball and David Hudson in beach handball

What made you choose this sport: I followed my older sisters’ footsteps. I got taken from pool to pool all the time and figured I might as well get in too! Plus it was fun!

Who is the most influential person in your sporting career and why: My sister, Taniele went to the 2008 Beijing Olympics for Water Polo and won bronze. She has been through it all before and is very supportive – as are the rest of my family!

Which person do you most look up to in your sporting career and why: Anyone taller than me

What are your ambitions both during and after your sporting career: To win an Olympic gold medal. Whatever I do, I want to enjoy it and give it 100%

Little known, interesting fact about you: I can play the saxophone and once recorded a CD to give to all my friends for Christmas!
