ATHLETE BIO

Joe Kayes made his Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and set the pool on fire with his performances. Kayes was one of Australia’s top scorers of the 2016 Olympics competition with a total of eight goals to his name.

In a short time has become renowned as one of the strongest centre forwards in the world.

A man big in stature, Kayes uses his size and strong physical nature to the advantage of the Aussie Sharks providing a constant headache for opposition teams.

In a testament to Kayes’ growing international reputation, Italian national league team and an internationally famous club, Pro Recco announced the signing of Kayes in mid 2018.

He has already competed in the Hungarian national league on two different occasions, but this will be his first time competing in the Italian equivalent.
