The Pymble Ladies’ College (Pymble) Aquatic And Fitness Centre has been announced as the host venue of the 2016/17 National Water Polo League Finals Series.
The new $34m facility on Sydney’s lower north shore will host three days of men’s and women’s finals action from 6-9 April 2017.
Pymble’s brand new Aquatic Centre opened in April 2016 and offers state-of-the-art facilities including an Olympic-size 51.5m heated indoor eight-lane swimming pool with a movable boom, multiple diving towers and Olympic-standard water polo fields. Dedicated video results scoreboard state of the art Gym.
Water Polo Australia (WPA) CEO Christian Renford said the venue was both competitor and spectator friendly seating over 600 people.
“WPA is excited to bring the National Water Polo League Finals to Sydney and offer our leading athletes a chance to compete in a modern indoor facility.
“This decision provided a great opportunity for our Sydney fans to support Australia’s best water polo players in a unique atmosphere,” said Renford.
The National Water Polo League continues this weekend with team’s heading into round four of the series.
At the end of regular competition the top six men’s and women’s teams will battle it out over three days of competition where the ultimate champions will be crowned.
