FINA World Masters Championships

The 2017 FINA World Masters Championships is currently being conducted in Budapest, Hungary from August 7- 13. Australia is well represented across the competition with more than 90 competitors across 7 teams taking part. The Australian teams taking part are the Pink Pointers (50+), Men’s 50+ – UWA – City Beach, Men’s 55+ Perth Cockatoos, Men’s 60+ Perth Cockatoos, Men’s 60+ UWA City Beach, Men’s 65+ Perth Cockatoo’s, Men 70+ Perth Cockatoos
It is great to see so many Aussie players mixing it with the best Water Polo masters players on the world stage and the great support from the Aussie Water Polo Clubs.
The 2017 competition are one of the biggest FINA World Masters Championships ever, especially for water polo. The number of registered teams is 120 marking the highest number ever – taking part across six pools.
The recent FINA World Championships in Budapest delivered world class competition and the water polo events were the most popular, with some session sold out. The Masters Championships is set to deliver the same great atmosphere.
The Aussie club teams have experienced some great results in the opening few days of competition with the Men’s Perth Cockatoos 70+ and the Women’s Pink Pointers 50+ both remaining unbeaten.
