Covid-19, Cancellations and Quarantine Issues

The coronavirus pandemic and its consequences are known and foreseen, and it is reasonable to expect that considerable disruption will be caused to ‘normal’ life in Australia for some time to come. Although Australia’s vaccination program is now underway, and although Australia’s borders remain open it is possible that further local outbreaks of COVID-19 will occur. It is possible that a consequence of any further outbreaks will be the closure of Australian State and Territory borders, at short or negligible notice. It is also possible that State and Territory governments will re-introduce quarantine requirements, imposed on people wishing to cross State and Territory borders.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Water Polo Australia Limited expressly excludes and disclaims any liability or responsibility incurred by any club, organisation or person choosing to enter, entering or participating in the 2024 Australian Youth Water Polo Championshps. Without limiting the generality of this exclusion and disclaimer, Water Polo Australia will not be responsible for any losses, damages, costs, amounts or any inconvenience caused by any cancellation of the event due to or attributable to COVID-19, or any government, statutory or regulatory requirements or obligations introduced by any Australian State or Territory government, which causes or contributes to any transportation disruptions and cancellations; quarantine obligations; travel advisories and restrictions; health advisories; changes to applicable law; and other government mandates such as evacuation orders, border closures and shelter-in-place requirements.

Notwithstanding the above, Water Polo Australia will use its best endeavours to assist participants mitigate and reduce any losses, damages, costs, amounts or inconvenience and where possible gain credit(s) or refunds for any cancelled bookings and services.
