Team work the focus for DVE Aquatic at KAP7 AYWPC

DVE Aquatic 16&U Boys will be putting the team first when they line up for the 2020 KAP7 Australian Youth Water Polo Championships (AYWPC) which kick off this Saturday in Brisbane.
Hailing from Victoria, the squad believe team work will set them apart from their interstate competition.
Riley O’Connell said that being a part of the team is one of the things that he enjoys most about the sport.
“As part of a team, you don’t have to solely rely on yourself,” O’Connell said.
“If you make a mistake, your team mates are able to make up for it – I know they’ll always have my back.”
O’Connell took up water polo two years ago, after being introduced to the sport by a friend.
“The thing I love most about water polo is the action – instead of just swimming laps there is a strategy to the game,” O’Connell said.
The DVE Aquatic boys have been training hard together and are looking forward to the KAP7 AYWPC.
“I’m excited to head up to Brisbane and be able to play back to back games,” O’Connell said.
“It’s a great chance to improve my skills against some tough opponents.
DVE Aquatic will be one of 33 16&U boys’ teams who will line up in Week 2 of the KAP7 AYWPC.
The KAP7 AYWPC will kick off this Saturday 11 January, with the 14&U and 18&U divisions competing in week one, followed by 12&U and 16&U in week two.
The championships will also be complemented by a three match international test series, in which the Aussie Stingers and KAP7 Aussie Sharks will face the USA on 14, 16 and 18 January.
