Water Polo Australia 2023 Annual General Meeting

The Water Polo Australia Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Saturday 18 November.

At the AGM, the 2022/23 Annual Report was presented by the WPA Board (CLICK HERE).

Four-time Olympian and WPA Hall of Fame member, Thomas Whalan was awarded Life Membership for his long standing service to sport (READ MORE).

Outgoing Water Polo Australia Board member John Whitehouse was acknowledged for his service, with his outstanding contribution to water polo in Australia spanning over 30 years (READ MORE).

Kay Copeland was re-appointed to her role as a Director on the Board, with Stuart Coventry also appointed to the Board.

Stuart has over 20 year’s experience in Sport & Entertainment, having spent 5 years as COO of the one of the biggest Live Action Sports brand’s Crusty Demons, 7 years as CEO of the Melbourne Renegades in crickets Big Bash League (Champions 2019), and COO of Basketball Australia.

More recently Stuart has consulted to the Australian Swimming League (with Swimming Australia) and the PGA Tour of Australasia (Golf) to setup new big budget short form events in seeking new audiences to each sport. Stuart has just started with the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival as Director - Finance, Strategy & Operations (Deputy CEO).

Stuart holds a Bachelor of Business/Marketing Degree and is a Chartered Accountant.
