The Water Polo Australia Risk Protection Program has been specially designed to meet the needs of Water Polo in Australia – Associations, Clubs, and individual members.
The following insurance policies have been designed to protect Water Polo Australia members when involved in activities that have been sanctioned by the relevant Water Polo State or Territory Association.
- Public Liability - Public liability insurance covers a person, a business, an event, a contractor – even a community building – for costs from legal action if they are found liable for death or injury, loss or damage of property, or economic loss resulting from their negligence.
- Personal Accident - If you are a member of a Water Polo Australia State/Territory Association or Club and you have suffered an injury whilst participating in a Water Polo or Water Polo related activity (including training, competing, official social event, fundraising activity or other sanctioned activity), Personal Accident Insurance can cover medical expenses (that are not covered by Medicare). It is strongly recommended that individuals have private health cover.
- Professional Indemnity - Professional indemnity insurance protects you from legal action taken against you if someone suffers a loss after following your professional advice or as a result of your receiving your service.
Activities covered include competition, training, social functions, committee meetings, and fundraising, as well as travel to and from these activities.
Please refer to the policy wording for full details of the policy benefits, exclusions, terms, and conditions.
The Water Polo Australia Insurance Program provides a “standard level” of cover for all members and has not considered an individual’s financial needs or circumstances. Water Polo Australia encourages all members to purchase their own Private Health Insurance, Life Insurance, and Income Protection to ensure an adequate level of cover is in place and is based on personal circumstances.
