Aussie Sharks Aaron Younger and Ausssie Stingers Lena Mihailovic both stood on the podium over the weekend for their Budapest based water polo club. With the Hungarian Cup finals and more taking place, read on to discover how our Aussie athletes went in their overseas competitions over the weekend.

AUSSIE SHARKS

HUNGARIAN MEN’S NATIONAL LEAGUE (MALE OB I)

Aussie Sharks Captain Aaron Younger continues to add to the trophy room helping spear his Club Ferencvaros taking out the Hungarian Cup. Read more about the first FTC-Telekom Hungarian Cup since 1996 here.

ITALIAN MEN’S A1 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Still three points behind ladder leaders AN Brescia, Pro Recco’s round 11 fixture against the undefeated team is shaping up as a highly anticipate match. Joe Kayes will be looking to lift Pro Recco over the line and send a strong statement to the rest of the competition with two regular rounds left to play.

ITALIAN MEN’S A2 CHAMPIONSHIPS

RN Sori and Nick Elphick could not keep the momentum going after their victory in round three and suffered a loss in their last match for 2018. Elphick netted himself a goal, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the defeat.

GREECE MEN’S NATIONAL LEAGUE (A1 ETHNIKI)

Anthony Hyrsanthos and Greek side Vouliagmeni secured their fourth consecutive win in the national league competition with only one goal separating the teams at full time.

SPANISH MEN’S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS (LIGA PREMAAT)

It was a tough day at the office for George Ford and Spanish team Mataro (Quadis), suffering their first loss at home for the season at the hands of Liga Premaat’s toughest team, Barceloneta.
