13&U NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CARNIVAL ADDED TO WATER POLO AUSTRALIA’S COMPETITION CALENDAR

Water Polo Australia is pleased to announce the addition of a 13&U National Development Carnival to the national competitions calendar.
The 13&U National Development Carnival will be held annually in July, creating a competition for state level 13&U teams to come together and enjoy water polo in a carnival style.
WPA General Manager - Competitions and Pathways Nicola Johnson said she is excited to expand the national competitions calendar.
“We are excited to be adding a 13&U National Development Carnival to our competitions calendar in 2023,” Johnson said.
“Over the past few years we have seen much success arise from our National State Championships events which cater for the 15&U, 17&U and 19&U age groups.
“It was important for us to create another development opportunity for the younger generation, and we are pleased to be delivering that in the format of a Development Carnival.
“Not only will this competition create a platform for our 13&U players to continue developing, but an opportunity for us to give emerging coaches and referees the chance to gain experience at a representative level.
“I’d like to thank the State Associations for their support in getting this event off the ground, and look forward to continuing to work together as we countdown to the first event in July this year,” she said.
The first edition of the 13&U National Development Carnival will be held in Tasmania from 6-9 July 2023.
