UTS Balmain Tigers’ player Anna Munns said that her team has been enjoying every aspect of the championships.

“It’s been a great experience so far, especially getting to watch the Australia vs USA test series,” Munns said.

“We learnt a lot of little tricks and it really helped us to learn some new skills, and how we can make our existing ones better,” she said.

But the Balmain girls are just enjoying their time in Brisbane.

“It feels like we’re on a holiday, but we get to play water polo too - it’s great,” Munns said.

“The weather has been really nice here in Brisbane and it’s nice to be in a new place.”

William Valentine, from local club Brisbane Barracudas, said that his team have been able to pull together some good water polo this week so far.

“There’s a few things we can improve on, but we’ve had some good wins as a team so far,” Valentine said.

“It’s been fun and it’s good that everyone is in Brisbane, the championships are a lot different from what they used to be like,” he said.

Valentine said that the 16&U Boys division is shaping up to be a tight competition.

“There’s a big group of teams that I think have a chance of winning, so it will be an interesting few days ahead.”

The 16&U teams will play their final round games tomorrow before moving on to cross over finals tomorrow afternoon.
