It was an action packed weekend in the Australian Waterpolo League, as our teams celebrated Indigenous Round.

SYDNEY UNI LIONS v ACU CRONULLA SHARKS

Friday’s games between the Sydney Uni Lions and ACU Cronulla Sharks opened up a massive week of Australian Waterpolo League action.

In the women’s game, Sydney Uni Lions claimed a triumphant 18-8 victory over the ACU Cronulla Sharks.

Cronulla turned the tables in the men’s game, winning 14-7 at home.

 

FYFE ADELAIDE JETS v UWA TORPEDOES

The UWA Torpedoes made the trip to Adelaide for four massive games across the weekend, managing to take a clean sweep, recording four from four wins.

In the women’s games, UWA won 20-11 on Saturday before backing it up to win 15-12 on Sunday.

In the men’s games, a 14-6 win fell in UWA’s favour on Saturday, before going on to win 16-6 on Sunday.

 

VICTORIAN PHOENIX v GRIFFITH UNI QUEENSLAND THUNDER

The Griffith Uni Queensland Thunder headed south to Melbourne for the weekend, matching up against Victorian Phoenix in four games.

The Griffith Uni Queensland Thunder locked in two from two wins, 12-5 on Saturday and 15-6 on Sunday, sitting comfortably atop of the Championship ladder.

In the men’s games, each team recorded one win, with Victoria coming out on top on Saturday 11-9, before Queensland bounced back on Sunday to win 8-5. 

 

UNSW WESTS v DRUMMOYNE DEVILS

Drummoyne Devils men maintained their unbeaten streak, with an important win over defending champions UNSW Wests Magpies on Sunday, 11-9.

It was a close fought battle in the women’s game, Drummoyne Devils women also coming out on top with a 12-11 win. 


 

UTS BALMAIN TIGERS v HUNTER HURRICANES

The UTS Balmain Tigers hosted the Hunter Hurricanes at the iconic Dawn Fraser Baths over the weekend, recording two wins at home.

In the women’s game, the UTS Balmain Tigers powered home to a 21-4 victory, with the men’s team backing it up to win 11-7 in a close fought battle.

 

UNSW WESTS v ACU CRONULLA SHARKS

In their final games of the weekend, UNSW Wests played against ACU Cronulla Sharks at Ashfield Aquatic Centre.

UNSW Wests Magpies and Killerwhales claimed the win in both games, 12-10 in the men’s game and 18-13 in the women’s game.

 

SYDNEY UNI LIONS v UTS BALMAIN TIGERS

Sydney Uni Lions hosted UTS Balmain Tigers in the Clash of the Cats over the weekend, as the KommunityTV feature game.

Ultimately, bragging rights fell in UTS Balmain Tigers favour, with a 14-12 win in the women’s game and 11-9 in the men’s game.

 

DRUMMOYNE DEVILS v HUNTER HURRICANES

Drummoyne Devils finished the weekend with two dominant wins against the Hunter Hurricanes at home on Sunday.

In the women’s game, Drummoyne pushed out to a 20-8 win, with the men backing it up with a 19-7 win.
