Week 4 of the 2025 Australian Water Polo League saw teams descend on pools right across the country, as the season continues to heat up.

UWA TORPEDOES v UTS BALMAIN TIGERS
The UTS Balmain Tigers were based in Perth this week to face the UWA Torpedoes in a double header.
In the men’s match ups, it was the UWA Torpedoes who secured a 15-9 win over the UTS Balmain Tigers at Bicton Pool on Thursday night, before the visitors bounced back to beat the home team 13-15 at the Perth HPC on Saturday night.
In the women’s games, the UTS Balmain Tigers were dominant over the UWA Torpedoes winning both the Thursday night game at Bicton Pool 9-14 and the Saturday night game at the Perth HPC 7-13.
FREMANTLE MARLINS/MARINERS v UTS BALMAIN TIGERS
It was a busy week for the UTS Balmain Tigers in Perth as they also faced the Fremantle Marlins/Mariners at Bicton on Friday 7 February and Sunday 9 February.
In the women’s games, the Fremantle Marlins record a convincing 10-6 victory over the UTS Balmain Tigers on Friday before clinching a 10-11 win over the home team on Sunday.
In the men’s games, the Fremantle Mariners won both nailbitting matchups against the visitors with a 17-16 win on Friday and a 9-8 win on Sunday.
HUNTER HURRICANES v CRONULLA SHARKS
The Hunter Hurricanes and Cronulla Sharks faced off over the weekend at both Lambton Pool on Saturday 8 February and Sutherland Leisure Centre on Sunday 9 February.
In the men’s matches, it was a dominant display by the Cronulla Sharks who beat the Hunter Hurricanes 13-17 on Saturday before they travelled back down the highway to convincingly claim a 16-3 win over the Hurricanes on Sunday
In the women’s matches, the Cronulla Sharks went back-back-against the Hunter Hurricanes claiming 6-18 win on Saturday and a 21-11 on Sunday. The Sunday match-up featured a goal scoring master class by Olympic silver medalist Danijela Jackovich, who recorded 7 goals.
DRUMMOYNE DEVILS v SYDNEY UNI LIONS
The Drummoyne Devils and Sydney Uni Lions battled it out in a round of hometown matches at Drummoyne Swimming Pool on Saturday 8 February and at the Peter Montgomery Pool on Sunday 9 February.
In the women’s matches, the Lions proved too strong for the devils winning 9-16 at Drummmoyne on Saturday and 14 -12 back home on Sunday.
In the men’s games the results were one a piece with the Devils winning at home 14-10 on Saturday, before the Lions returned serve with a 13-8 victory on Sunday.
GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY QUEENSLAND THUNDER v VICTORIAN PHOENIX
The Victorian Phoenix made their way to Brisbane this week to face off with the Griffith Uni Queensland Thunder at the Fortitude Valley Pool.
In the women’s match ups, the Thunder reigned supreme with 17-12 and 11-3 victories over the weekend.
In the men’s games, the Thunder recorded their first two wins of the season defeating the Victorian Phoenix 18-13 on Saturday and 17-16 on Sunday.
