60 seconds with Molly Colquhoun

Seventeen year old Molly Colquhoun is making the transition from junior to senior level with the ACU Cronulla Sharks in Australia's premier water polo competition, the OVO Australian Waterpolo League (OVO AWL).
ACU Cronulla Sharks Water Polo was formed in 1964 and is a community Club embedded within the southern suburbs of Sydney.
After making her debut at the OVO AWL level this year, she has gone on to cap up a total of seven times so far this season and it is clear she has a bright future ahead of her.
Molly has been part of the well renowned Club since 2014 when she first capped up with the 14Bs in her local competition.
She has worked her way through the ranks and all her hard work came to fruition when she made her OVO AWL debut in round two this year against UWA Torpedoes.

- How did you find out about water polo? I found out about water polo through my older sister and brother.
- How many years have you been playing the sport? I have been playing for nine years, I started as a seven year old playing FlippaBall and then continued on to play for ACU Cronulla Sharks in 2014.
- Which Club did you play your first junior water polo match at? At Sutherland Water Polo Club.
- What is your earliest water polo memory? My earliest memory of water polo was when I was seven watching my sister play her first national championships in Melbourne.
- What is your best water polo highlight? Debuting for ACU Cronulla Sharks in OVO AWL and playing against Olympians.
- What is the highest level of water polo you've played? OVO AWL and NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association (NSWCHHSA).
- What is your favourite water polo position? Right driver/right winger as that is where I have play most of my games and I like doing picks.
- Do you have a favourite water polo saying? “Don’t shoot, don’t shoot…. Good shot."
- What is your best piece of advice to youngsters coming through with dreams to play in the OVO AWL? If the coach and senior players in the team believe in you, then believe in yourself.
- Why should somebody play water polo? You should play water polo because of the people you meet and the memories you make. Also you gain a lot of life skills like resilience, team work and leadership.
