60 seconds with Sam Hughes
Published Wed 24 Apr 2019
Taking part in his inaugural OVO Australian Waterpolo League season this year, Sam Hughes is one of UTS Balmain Tigers' next generation coming through the ranks.
Since making his debut in round one this year against cross town rivals Sydney Uni Lions in the annual Clash of the Cats fixture, Hughes has not looked out of place in Australia's premier water polo competition.
Playing in all but one of his side's matches to date and racking up six goals so far, he has had made a great start in the Tigers cap.
First beginning his water polo career with the Gosford Lobsters on the Central Coast, Hughes started playing at Balmain in the U14 age group and has steadily risen through the ranks to compete in the national league with the Tigers men's team.
