A standout 12 months for Stingers Rio Olympian Zoe Arancini has led to her nomination for Athlete of the Year at the 2019 WAIS Awards.
The nomination comes off the back off some strong performances at the 2019 FINA World Championships, where Arancini scored three goals in the final to help her team to a bronze medal and earned her the MVP award.
Arancini was also recently named Sportswoman of the Year at the 2019 Curtin University Sports Awards.
Sharks Assistant coach Paul Oberman has also been named a finalist for Coach of the Year.
Oberman, an Olympian himself, has been working tirelessly to usher through the next generation of aspiring Australian water polo Olympians.
The annual awards will take place at the Pan Pacific Hotel on Thursday November 14, with the best sporting talent from around Western Australia to be in attendance.
