AUSTRALIAN TEAM CONFIRMED FOR FINA YOUTH WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Water Polo Australia is pleased to announce the Australian Youth Women’s team for the upcoming FINA Youth Women’s World Championships.
13 players, as well as two travelling reserves, have been selected for the FINA Youth Women’s World Championships set to be held in Belgrade, Serbia from 31 July to 8 August.
The team will travel to Holland and Greece, before arriving in Serbia, where they will have the chance to train and play against other international teams, to prepare for the Youth World Championships.
Head Coach Phillip Bower said having had limited access to international competition in the last two years, the training camps and Youth World Championships will be a great learning and development opportunity for this group.
“This team has minimal international experience, so hopefully our training opportunities in Europe leading into World Championships will add greatly to this.
“We will start with a camp in Eidhoven training with the Dutch Youth team, before heading to Greece for the Pythia Cup, where we will play Greece, Holland, USA, Hungary and Italy.
“The team we have selected is capable of achieving good results - we will be very adaptable and hopefully play a style that is exciting to watch and a joy to play,” he said.
