The Aussie Sharks are preparing to take on the reigning Olympic champions Serbia in the men’s water polo, as they head into their third game of the preliminary stages.
Both sides come into the match with one win and one loss, eager to secure vital points to secure a quarter finals berth.
The Aussie Sharks will be hoping to build on the momentum from their convincing 11-8 win over European heavy weights Croatia in game two.
Serbia also come into the third game on the back of a win over Kazakhstan, after dropping their opening match to Spain.
Four time Olympian Richie Campbell, is leading the Aussie Sharks goal scoring with an impressive hat-trick in both games.
Making his Olympic debut Blake Edwards is the second leading goal scorer with two a piece in each match.
“It is always difficult to play Serbia and they are always on the podium,” said Edwards.
“But I believe if we put together four quarters against them it is really anyone we can beat in the world,” he said.
The Aussie Sharks will play Serbia on Thursday 29 July 2021 at 8:50pm AEST.
