AUSSIE SHARKS SQUAD ANNOUNCED FOR EUROPEAN TOUR AND WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION TOURNAMENT 1

Water Polo Australia is pleased to announce the Aussie Sharks squad for their upcoming European tour and World Cup Qualification Tournament 1.
The Water Polo World Cup, formerly known as the World League, will feature two qualification tournaments for men and women followed by the Super Final.
The first qualification tournament for the men will take place in Podgorica, Montenegro, from 8-14 March 2023.
Leading into the competition, the Aussie Sharks will be based in Kotor, Montenegro, where they will train alongside European powerhouses Montenegro.
Aussie Sharks Head Coach Tim Hamill said the World Cup squad is a great mix of youth and experience.
“Due to their European club commitments, the overseas based players weren’t able to join us for the camp in Perth with Japan, so we’re looking forward to them rejoining the squad in Montenegro,” Hamill said.
“The World Cup Division 1 brings together the top 12 teams in the world, and at this stage in our development as a team we want to be playing against the best of the best.
“This training camp and competition will be a great opportunity for us as a team, as we continue to build towards the 2023 World Aquatics Championships and 2024 Paris Olympic Games,” he said.
The top six teams from World Cup Division 1 will join the top two teams from World Cup Division 2 in the World Cup Super Finals in June.
