After a successful trip to Brisbane earlier in the year, Aussie Stingers Assistant Coach Dusan Damjanovic returned to Brisbane to work with the Queensland Academy of Sport program and athletes.

South Australian based Damjanovic said it was great to get back up to Brisbane and also touch base with the Aussie Stingers squad members.

“It’s not my first time here, but I enjoy it up here (in Brisbane) even more each time I come back,” Damjanovic said.

“Players in Queensland are really passionate about water polo, and always make me feel welcome when I come here,” Damjanovic said.

“The staff in Queensland have been really supportive, and they’re doing a great job with the program up here.

“The girls are very talented, they’re all highly skilled and understand the task at hand.

“It’s refreshing to come back to Queensland and witness the really good work that everyone up here has been doing,” he said.

Like the national men’s program, the Aussie Stingers are currently training within their own State Institute programs while border restrictions are in place and working with the national team coaches and support staff.

As all Australian squad members continue to work towards Tokyo 2020ne, squads are using technology to stay connected and keep on track in preparation for the next Olympic Games.

In Queensland, the Aussie Stingers and KAP7 Aussie Sharks squad members are playing as part of the newly launched Water Polo Queensland Premier League, which kicked off last weekend.
