It was another week of strong performances by our Aussie athletes overseas, read on to find out how they are are tracking in their respective competitions around the world.

AUSSIE SHARKS

HUNGARIAN MEN’S NATIONAL LEAGUE (MALE OB I)

In a showdown of two powerful European Club sides, Aussies Sharks captain Aaron Younger and his team FTC-Telekom went down against Italian powerhouse Pro Recco 7-13.

In their latest fixture Nathan Power and VK Jadran Split claimed an exciting 12-11 win away from home against HAVK Mladost.

Tim Putt and VK Primorje EB will be eager to turn around their latest result after suffering a big 7-19 defeat.

SPANISH MEN’S NATIONAL LEAGUE (LIGA PREMAAT)

Fourth place Quadis CN Mataro, where Aussie Sharks player George Ford is based, suffered a defeat against third place CN Barcelona Vista and will look to turn their fortune around on 27 April.

GREEK MEN’S NATIONAL LEAGUE (A1 ETHNIKI)

Playing with Vouliagmeni in Greece, Aussie Sharks Anthony Hyrsanthos and his teammates will be satisfied with their latest match which ended in a 11-6 win.

ITALIAN MEN’S A1 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Joe Kayes and Pro Recco continue their winning ways this time taking down renowned Hungarian team FTC Telekom convincingly 13-7.

ITALIAN MEN’S A2 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Nick Elphick and RN Sori continue searching for a win after another loss this time to Bologna, going down 4-10 and leaving themselves at the bottom of the competition ladder.

In Serbia, Valjevo Gorenge and Damien Williams lost their latest game by an agonising one goal and will be focused on turning things around when they're next in the pool on 21 April.

ITALIAN WOMEN’S NATIONAL LEAGUE (CAMPIONATO SERIE A1)

Elle Armit and Plebiscito Padova are preparing for their upcoming LEN Euro League Semi Final where they will travel to Sabadell in Spain and compete for the title.

With seven goals for the season at Rapallo Pallanuoto, Jessica Zimmermann will be satisfied where the group sit in the 2018/19 season. Currently tracking third on the ladder, they will be looking to get back on the winners list at the end of this month.

A pair of Aussie Stingers in Hannah Buckling and Keesja Gofers are part of Greek team Olympiacos SFP who are coming off a strong win in their national league before taking on the same team this Friday at the LEN Euro League Semi Final in Spain.

Morgan Baxter and Ethnikos National Piraeus retuned to the winners circle with a 14-6 win over ANO Glyfadas.

AMERICAN COLLEGE (NCAA)

The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan water polo team closed out the regular season with a one-sided affair, claiming a 14-5 win over George Washington. Madeleine Steere and Sofie Pontre netted themselves a goal each, while Abby Andrews grabbed a double.

In her latest outing for UCLA, Bronte Halligan scored a season-high and career-high-tying four goals against San Jose State as part of UCLA's 13-3 victory.

It was a blow-out for Carla Traplin and Cal Women's Water Polo against Indiana, with Traplin's side running out winners 17-5.

USC, which is home for Matilda Kearns, flexed their muscles over Arizona State with a relatively easy 17-3 win. Kearns contributed on the score sheet with one goal as part of USC's match which also paid tribute to their senior players.

HUNGARIAN WOMEN’S NATIONAL LEAGUE (FEMALE OB I)

Lena Mihailovic and Hungarian side FTC-Telekom have suffered a big defeat at the hands of UVSE defending national league champions. However they will have a chance to draw level in the semi final series when they square off again on 17 April. If the series is equal after the second match, FTC-Telekom will have to return to Margaret Island, the home of UVSE and look to take the series there.
