Australian Men’s Team Announced for World Aquatics U20 Water Polo Championships

Water Polo Australia is pleased to announce the Australian Men’s U20 team that will contest the upcoming World Aquatics U20 Water Polo Championships in Romania from 10-17 June 2023. 

A 15 person team has been named, with four players who recently made their Aussies Sharks debut earlier this year and who will bring valuable experience to the young side. 

Australian Head Coach Vedran Cirkovic, said the team is highly motivated to showcase their skills against the best in the world. 

“I'm delighted to announce that our team for the upcoming World Aquatics U20 Men’s Water Polo Championships

“We have four outstanding senior national team debutantes, namely Tristan Glanznig, Marcus Berehulak, Andrej Grgurevic, and Laurence Barker, who will bring exceptional energy and skill to the team. 

“In addition, we have three players who are studying in the US college system, namely Andrej Grgurevic, Luka Krstic, and Mattia Bognolo, who will add valuable international experience to our team.

“We are fortunate to have a couple of players with previous experience from youth World Champions in Rory McKell and William Valentine, who will prove to be valuable assets in navigating the tournament's challenges.

“The team is highly motivated to win every match they play. They are an exceptional group of athletes and amazing people who have dedicated a lot of effort and sacrifice to represent Australia overseas with pride,” he said.
