It was an action packed four days of Australia Waterpolo League (AWL) matches, as the teams entered the penultimate weekend of 2026 regular season.

UNSW WESTS v VICTORIAN PHOENIX On Thursday night it was UNSW Wests and the Victorian Phoenix who got this week’s fixtures underway.
In the men’s games, UNSW proved too strong for the interstate visitors winning 23-6 on Thursday and 22-11 on Friday.
In the women’s games, it was the Phoenix who snatched an 11-8 victory on Thursday before UNSW hit back winning 15-13 the following night..
DRUMMOYNE DEVILS v FREMANTLE MARLINS/MARINERS
The other Thursday night blockbuster was the Drummoyne Devils up against Fremantle.
In the women’s game, a tight contest saw the Fremantle Marlins walk away with a 13-12 victory over the Drummoyne Devils with the visitors going on to replicate their good form the following night, beating the Devils 9-7.
In the men’s game, the Fremantle Mariners finished on top in both match ups, winning 20-14 on Thursday and 12-11 on Friday.
UTS BALMAIN TIGERS v UNSW WESTS
It was a busy weekend for both UNSW Wests sides who faced the UTS Balmain Tigers in their third game of the week.
UNSW Wests men’s team continued their dominance, posting a convincing 14- 7 victory over the Tigers.
In the women’s game, UTS-Balmain again looked like genuine title contenders, their run of good form continuing with a 17-4 victory.
SYDNEY UNI LIONS v FREMANTLE MARLINS/MARINERS
The Fremantle sides were back in action, taking on the Sydney Uni Lions in their second double header of the week.
Sydney Uni won both women’s matches, defeating the Fremantle Marlins 8-6 on Saturday and 11-7 on Sunday.
In the men’s games, the visiting Mariners claimed a 14-13 win over the Sydney Uni Lions, before the home side hit back 19-17 on Sunday after a thrilling penalty shootout.
CRONULLA SHARKS v VICTORIAN PHOENIX
This weekend the Cronulla Sharks hosted the Victorian Phoenix in a high-scoring double header.
In the men’s games, Cronulla walked away with the league points, defeating the Victorian Phoenix 21-16 on Saturday and 17-12 on Sunday.
In the women’s games, a 10-goal scoring blitz by Olympic silver medalist Danijela Jackovich helped guide Cronulla to dominant 21-5 and 15-6 wins over the Phoenix.
HUNTER HURRICANES v DRUMMOYNE DEVILS
For the final matchup of the weekend, the Drummoyne Devils headed to the Hunter Valley to take on the Hunter Hurricanes,
Drummoyne’s women claimed a pair of wins, 14-7 and 12-5 win on Sunday.
In the men’s game, the Devils snatched a tight 12-10 victory despite a gritty performance from the Hurricanes.
