With games aplenty across Brisbane, the competition just gets tighter and tighter as we go deeper into the first week.
The U14 Men’s and Womens played their cross over matches, while the U18 Women’s cross over finals were decided and the U18 Men’s continued their progession.
After finishing third in their group Adelaide Jets played Hunter Hurricanes in one of the day’s first games across the city.
Jets’ centre back Henry Smart says his team will look to learn from their 8 all draw against Hunter.
“I think we played okay, we like to play with a defence first style and today our defence was a little bit poor, but we manage to hold on for a draw.
“We were a little bit upset after the game, but now we are focused on playing hard and not letting our opposition score early goals in our next few games,” he said.

In the older divisions, defending U18 Women’s champions Sydney Northern Beaches had a resounding 16-4 win over Melville Marlins at Somerville House.
Isobelle Pamp from the Sydney team was proud of how her side stuck together to get the win.
“We did really well, they were really strong and physical, but we managed to overcome that for a good win and we’re just getting stronger as the days go on.
“To win the title again is our main focus, but we are also concentrating on getting our bond even stronger and staying positive in the pool to just play our game,” she said.
Speaking about her time in Brisbane, Pamp says she is enjoying her time in the Queensland capital.
“It’s awesome, I love it! I haven’t been here for so long, but the team is really enjoying it, all the pools are awesome and everyone is really lovely,” she said.

Melville Saints U18 Men’s claimed a big scalp with a one goal victory over Hunter Hurricanes.
West Australian goalkeeper Tex Sjerp says there is a great feeling within the team after their match.
“It was a pretty tough game against them, we went goal for goal for the whole game and we ended up coming out victorious by one goal so we’re pretty stoked about that.
“We’re just trying to get as far as we can, it’s fantastic to see how well we’re going at the moment,” he said.
Facing a one-on-one scenario with less than a minute to go in the match and with his team up by one, Sjerp delivered a match winning save.
“It was pretty scary, but I just backed myself into it and ended up saving it so that was pretty good.
“After four days of competition we’re a little tired because we have been out and about it in Brisbane and trying to see as much as we can and we’ve also been going pretty hard in each game too, but overall the team is in a good mindset,” he said.
