B2000 Women's Squad Training Camp
Published Mon 08 Jan 2018
The Born 2000 Australian Women’s squad have kicked off 2018 in style with a training camp and matches in Sydney.
The Aussies competed against squads from NSWIS, QAS as well as Arizona University (USA) with teams forced to also battle the tough Sydney summer conditions.
Head Coach Dusan Damjanovic said he was pleased to see how the squad came together and progressed across the week.
“We managed to deliver some close games against experienced teams,” said Damjanovic.
“Our final game against QAS was a play off for third place and we were unlucky to go down by one point.
“As a squad I was pleased with how we progressed and improved in our extra man attack and defence, general communication and individual counter attack reaction,” he said.
It is a big year for the squad that will continue to build towards the FINA World Women's Youth Championships that will be held in Belgrade in August.
