Water Polo Australia is pleased to announce Dusan Damjanovic as the WPA/Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) Women’s Head Coach.
Damjanovic brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the Assistant Coach of the Ord Minnett Aussie Stingers.
Damjanovic will start as QAS Women’s Head Coach on Monday 3 July, working in conjunction with Paul Oberman (National Women’s Head Coach) to provide physical preparation, technical and tactical development required for international competition as well as developing the next generation of Ord Minnett Aussie Stingers.
WPA General Manager Performance Charles Turner welcomed Damjanovic to the team, and thanked outgoing coach Benn Lees for his service.
“Firstly, I’d like to thank Benn Lees for his contribution to the program over the last few years, and for his development of the program,” Turner said.
“I’d also like to welcome Dusan to the role and look forward to working closely together as we develop current and future generations of Ord Minnett Aussie Stingers.
“The Queensland Academy of Sport is a National Training Centre in our Australian women’s program, and Dusan’s role will be crucial in helping to prepare our athletes for World Championships and Olympic Games,” he said.
QAS Executive Director Performance Programs Shaun Stephens: “The QAS looks forward to welcoming Dusan to lead our women’s water polo program and working with our performance support staff and athletes to drive continual improvement across the program.”
