Entries open for 16 & Under National Aged Club Championships

Water Polo Australia is excited to announce entries are open for the boys and girls 2018 16&U National Aged Club Championships which will be hosted across two states.
The 16&U Boys will compete across multiple venues in Perth from October 2-7, while the 16&U girls will compete at Hobart’s Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre from October 1-6.

The competition is open to players born between 2002-2004 and provides a highly competitive national tournament for clubs against the best teams in Australia.
The 16&U championships will be the last in its current format before transitioning to the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships that will be held in Brisbane in January 2019.

Although the timing of both events is quite close together, WPA is committed to providing the Born 2002 age group with their own dedicated, top level aged championships.
Water Polo Australia’s National Competitions Manager Matthew Turnball said both tournaments have a long history in providing players, coaches and Clubs with valuable national water polo experience.
“The level of competition at these National Aged Club Championships year after year is at a consistently high standard, providing teams with a great learning experience.
“Our national championship events are an important part of the player pathway,” he said.

Draft Conducted: Wednesday 15 August, 2018 – 6:00pm (AEST) for girls and 7:00pm (AEST) for boys – draft will be conducted by teleconference.
Draw Issued: Friday 14 September, 2018
