TOURNAMENT PREVIEW

Australia’s most promising 16&U female water polo players are set to take on one another to be crowned national champions in their age division from 1 October in Hobart, Tasmania.

The National Aged Championships provides a platform for developing athletes to compete against the best teams in the country for the national title.

National Competitions Manager Matt Turnball says the number of team entries for the event is very strong.

“The sport is growing and the clubs are supporting that growth by making sure they’re entering teams into this event because they’ve come to expect a high level of competitive play.

“This is an extraordinarily big tournament for 16&U Girls in terms of team entry numbers and provides clubs with a good lead into next years inaugural Australian Youth Water Polo Championships.

“The event also offers coaches and officials to come away and improve over a week-long tournament,” he said.
