Four Australian referees have been appointed to officiate at the FINA Youth World Championships and FINA Cadet World Championships.
West Australian referee Fiona Haigh has just finished officiating at the FINA Youth Women’s World Championships in Belgrade Serbia.
Nicholas Hodges (NSW) is currently at the FINA Youth Men’s World Championships also in Belgrade, Serbia.
Ash Kaesler (QLD) and Gabor Boris (WA) will officiate at the first ever FINA Cadet World Championships, which will be held in Greece later this month.
WPA National Officials Manager Michael Hart offered his congratulations to the four referees.
“I am very pleased to congratulate Fiona, Nick, Ash and Gabor on their appointments for their respective FINA World Championships,” Hart said.
“Our FINA referees have had limited opportunities to officiate at international competitions over the last few years, so this is a great chance for them to be back on the world stage.
“It is an honour to be appointed to referee at competitions like these, and they should all be very proud,” he said.
