GEORGE FORD’S PASSPORT TO PERTH
Published Wed 07 Dec 2022
Hailing from Perth, dual Olympian George Ford knows a thing or two about what to do in Western Australia.
Having recently returned to WA, after a stint on the east coast, George has rediscovered his love for the west coast.
As the countdown to the 2023 Australian Youth Water Polo Championships heats up, George has you covered with his ‘Top 5 things to do in Perth,’ check it out!
1. My number one thing to do in Perth is visit our beaches! Any of them are stunning, but my favourite is Grant Street Beach. Locals tip: mornings are the best time before the wind kicks in.
2. North Street Store in Cottesloe is one of my favourite places to grab something to eat! It’s takeaway only, but the coffee and food is insane.
3. In my downtime I like to play golf, and the driving range at The Swing Wembley is the perfect spot to hit a few balls. The range has a great view over the city too.
4. Definitely check out Fremantle when you are in town, there are lots of restaurants for the whole family. Gage Roads Brew Co would have to be one of my favourites.
5. If you’ve got a day off, or are staying in Perth after the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships, I’d recommend checking out Margaret River. It’s a 2.5 hour drive from Perth but is a great place to unwind.
