Join the Culture Implementation Panel

Water Polo Australia’s vision is to make our sport your sport - wanting to create a deeper engagement with those already involved as well as attract new people to the game.

To make water polo accessible and inclusive to players and volunteers, our sport must provide an environment that existing and potential participants wish to be part of. The culture of our sport must demonstrate respect for people, both during and outside of the game, and be accepting of all backgrounds and customs.

Whether you play, referee, officiate, volunteer or a parent, we all have a role in creating an environment that we are all proud to be part of.

With that view in mind, we are embarking on a project to define and create the culture we wish to see in Australian water polo.

So what are we doing to innovate the culture within our sport? Well first, we want help from our water polo community to help us define “what good looks like”.

WPA is seeking members to join the Culture Implementation Panel. The purpose of the Panel is to provide support and advice to WPA and States via the National Executive Group (NEG) in relation to the proactive management of the water polo Culture, so that it aligns consistently with the Think.Act.Play guidelines and minimises breaches of the WPA Code of Conduct.

WPA are looking for candidates who collectively have expertise and attributes from the following area:

  • Change management
  • Behaviour influencing
  • Leadership and Management
