Water Polo Australia (WPA) is pleased to present its refreshed learning and development framework, making coaching and refereeing education resources cheaper, and easier to access and complete.

In 2021, WPA rolled out the new look Learning and Development Framework, which provides a holistic picture of the capabilities that coaches, and officials need to enable them to consistently create environments in which all players and developing officials they work with, thrive.

After 18 months of consultation and collaboration with the Coaches and Referees Advisory Panel, made up of subject matter experts from across the country, the updated Framework now allowed all current gold and platinum members to access and complete courses of interest in a flexible and time efficient way.

WPA General Manager - Sport Development Tim Welsford said he is proud of the progress that has been made to date.

“Fundamentally, we were keen to make learning content as accessible, affordable and flexible as possible,” Welsford said.

“Contemporary education course delivery is moving away from time consuming and expensive content, to short and sharp pieces of information that can be completed anywhere and when time permits.

“As part of the process, we have also custom built a new education platform in conjunction with etrainu that has enabled us to allow members to access all the educational content with their Revolutionise Sport user ID and password.

“We are also delighted to be able to offer complimentary access to our learning and development platform as part of the fees for gold and platinum members.

“Whether you are beginning your coaching journey, or are an experienced coach at any level, there are education courses and information to expand your knowledge and I encourage everyone to get involved,” he said.
