Mediterranean Cup first stop for Born 2000 Men

The Australian Men’s Born 2000 side have arrived in Belgrade for the Meditation Cup as preparations continue head of the FINA Youth World Championships.
After a week long training camp in Greece the side are ready to take on top water polo nations is sure to be a fiercely fought contest.
The Mediterranean Cup will feature ten sides with Australia set to take on Italy, Croatia, Spain and Serbia 2 in the preliminary rounds.
This tournament will provide a good test of their endurance as they look to compete in six matches across four days of competition. Four of those matches are due to occur in the last two days.
Australian Born 2000 Men’s Head Coach Andrew Yanitsas says the group is looking forward to their first tournament as a team.
“Some of the best teams in the world will be there, so it’ll be a big challenge for the boys across four days.
“We will be focused on putting what we’ve just learnt from training into practice within a highly competitive environment,” he said.

- Thursday August 2 – AUS vs SRB 2 18:20 (August 3, 2:20am AEST)
- Friday August 3 – AUS vs ESP 21:00 (August 4, 5:00am AEST)
- Saturday August 4 – AUS vs CRO 9:50 (6:50pm AEST)
- Saturday August 4 – AUS vs ITA 18:20 (2:20am AEST)
- Sunday August 5 qualifying match TBC
- Sunday August 5 final placing match TBC
