National Australian Female Squads Embark on Joint Training Camp
Published Sat 04 May 2019
Female athletes aspiring to represent Australia at the 2019 Summer Universiade and 2019 FINA Junior World Championships will come together for a 10 day training camp in Canberra beginning on 6 May.
The athletes on hand will aim to hone their skills and structures ahead of their major international competitions throughout Europe over the coming months.
Taking place at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), this camp offers Australia’s next generation to develop on their pathway to becoming elite water polo players.
Water Polo Australia’s High Performance Manager Aleksandr Osadchuk says there is an abudance of talent in this group as well as a strong desire to perform on the world stage.
“These athletes are some of the best we have in this country and continue to work hard everyday to better their games as individuals.
“The upcoming camps will help develop their strengths and refine their structures with the aim of solid performances at their major competitions,” he said.
Athletes were selected based on their performances from the 2018 and 2019 OVO Australian Waterpolo League seasons, as well as previous national training camp attendance and competitions.
Congratulations to those athletes selected for the training camp.
