Water Polo Australia can confirm that Steve Blunt recently resigned as a director of the Water Polo Australia Board.
Having served on the WPA Board for the past three years and prior to that five years as a member of the Water Polo Victoria Board, Steve has contributed significantly to and strongly advocated for the development of the sport at all levels including a positive and inclusive culture for our water polo community.
During his time on the WPA Board, Steve also served on the WPA Board Governance and High-Performance Committees.
WPA President, Thomas Whalan acknowledge the great work Steve contributed during his tenure.
“Steve has been a hard working and dedicated Director of WPA and I would like to thank him on behalf of the board and the sport for his dedicated service.
“Steve acknowledged that the sport is operating in a competitive market and supports the notion that necessary change in the structure and culture within the sport is required for Water Polo to remain relevant, to secure ongoing financial support from different sources and to grow,” said Whalan.
