Stingers ready to open Olympic campaign in Paris

The Aussie Stingers will open their Olympic campaign on the first day of the Paris Games at the Aquatics Centre against China at 4:05am AUS time/8:05pm local time.
It will be the first of four pool matches for the Aussie Stingers, who will also meet The Netherlands, Canada and Hungary.
The Stingers will go into the match with confidence after completing a clean sweep of a three-test match series against China in Australia recently.
Dual Olympian Tilly Kearns said the team was “really excited” about opening their Games campaign.
“No matter who the opponent was going to be, we’re ready to play,” Tilly said.
“It’s been a long preparation so we’re excited to put on the green and gold, put on the Olympic caps and get started.
“We’ve got plenty of lessons from those three games at home of how they played, but we also played with them day in and day out so we kind of know what they do, who they look for and how they play which is of course helpful.
“But the thing with China is you don’t really know what to expect, so we also have to be adaptable.
“We had a practice game yesterday just to get a feel for the pool, and the cameras and the lights, it’s very exciting. It’s a step above what we’re used to and we’re really looking forward to it.”
