Teams announced for upcoming international test match series

Water Polo Australia is pleased to announce the squad for the Australian versus USA international test match series and training camp to be held at Kawana Aquatic Centre on the Sunshine Coast from March 26-31.
The Aussie Sharks and Stingers will play two test matches each against USA back to back on March 29-30.
The Aussie Sharks and Stingers squads will come together as they prepare for the 2018 World League Inter-Continental Cup in Auckland, New Zealand beginning April 3.
Aussie Sharks head coach Elvis Fatovic says his squad is a good mix of youth and experience.
“The squad is a good make up of some new players and experienced players who were part of the World Championships last year.”
“This Sunshine Coast test match series offers us an excellent opportunity to spend time together as a squad training in some of the country’s best facilities a week before New Zealand.
“Anytime we can play international matches is good, USA are an excellent team for us to be training with and playing against,” he said.
Aussie Stingers head coach Sakis Kechagias has high expectations for his team ahead of the test match series.
“During this training camp we will use the test matches against USA to prepare as much as possible for the World League.
“Every day of preparation, every training session and every game is also important for the national team in building towards the 2020 Tokyo Olympics,” he said.
As part of the Australian squads visit to the Sunshine Coast, on Monday March 26 there will be an open training session followed by a Q&A with a panel including all four head coaches, Elis Fatovic, Sakis Kechagias, Dejan UdoviÄić and Adam Krikorian.
