2022 TRI NATIONS WATER POLO TEST MATCH SERIES TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON KAYO SPORTS
Published Wed 30 Nov 2022
Water Polo Australia has today announced Kayo Sports as the official broadcast partner of the 2022 Tri Nations Water Polo Test Match Series that will be held in Perth as part of the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships.
On 11, 13 and 15 of January 2023, the six test matches will be broadcast from 6pm AWST/9pm AEDT across Kayo Freebies.
The announcement comes as a major boost for water polo, with Kayo set to stream all six matches of the Tri Nations Series that will feature the Aussie Sharks, Aussie Stingers, US women’s and Japanese men’s teams, live and free on Kayo Freebies.
Water Polo Australia CEO Richard McInnes said: “We are thrilled to welcome Kayo as our official broadcast partner for the 2023 Tri Nations Series.
“The Tri Nations Series will showcase our Aussie Sharks and Stingers, and will form an important part of their preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“The Kayo broadcast will give our water polo fans unprecedented access to watch the games, but this partnership will also allow us to continue to reach new sports fans and grow the profile of water polo in Australia,” he said.
Aussie Stingers captain and dual Olympian Zoe Arancini said: “Having the Tri Nations Test Match Series broadcast on Kayo Sports is a fantastic opportunity for us as players, and for the sport.
“I can’t wait to bring water polo back to my hometown of Perth - it’s an amazing venue at HBF Stadium and it’s going to be such a good experience for our national teams and the next generation playing in the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships.
“Matching up against the USA, we know it’s going to be a fierce rivalry…it always is. We expect it to be fast and physical - they’ll always be tough and we’re always ready for it. They want to win, and so do we, so it should make for a great spectacle,” she said.
