Water Polo Australia is saddened by the passing of Olympian Edmond Brooks. The proud Triton Water Polo Club and West Australian representative played for Australia on 128 occasions.

Brooks made his first state team in Western Australia in 1972, representing WA on another six occasions in 1973, 1974, 1976, 1978 and 1979.

At a time when an Australian team was only selected every couple of years, Brooks was a member of the Australian Men’s National Team which competed at the first World Championships in 1973 in Belgrade, Serbia.

He also played for his country at the 1975 World Championships in Cali, before going on to represent Australia at the Montreal 1976 Olympic Games and was part of the Australian team which toured Europe, Canada, USA and Mexico in 1979.

The WA and Australian water polo community extends their deepest sympathy to the extended family and close colleagues of Eddie.
