Water Polo Australia announces Aussie Stingers Train On squad

Water Polo Australia (WPA) is pleased to announce the Aussie Stingers Train On squad as preparations begin for the 2022 FINA World Championships and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

WPA is currently in the final stages of the appointment process for a new National Head Coach/Coaching Director for the women’s program, which has attracted strong interest from around the globe.

The Train On squad has been selected in consultation with WPA National Selection Panel and the National Institute Network coaches.

WPA General Manager Performance Charles Turner said: “Congratulations to the athletes who have been selected in the Aussie Stingers Train On squad.

“The squad will be revised as the training program progresses, the new Head Coach is appointed, and the AWL Competition is played in 2022.

“This preparation phase will be important for our women’s water polo program as they build towards the 2022 FINA World Championships, 2024 Paris Olympic Games and beyond.

“I look forward to working with the athletes and coaches of the Aussie Stingers program throughout the Olympic cycle,” he said.
