WATER POLO NATIONAL STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK

With 2021 fast approaching, the Water Polo Australia (WPA) is excited to be working with all stakeholders to deliver the new National Strategic Framework, unveiled in November.
Officially kicking in from 1 January 2021, the new strategy outlines the plans for growing water polo in Australia for the next decade, with the collaborative approach in delivery with the State Associations a first in the sport’s history.
WPA President, Trent Birkett, said the development of the National Strategic Framework (NSF) was a whole of sport effort taking into account member, Club and State input as well as the WPA Board.
“We are proud to have a new National Strategic Framework that has input from across the country as well as at all levels of the sport,” said Birkett.
“On behalf of the current Board of Water Polo Australia, we want to especially thank our outgoing members who have played a significant role in helping to bring about the NSF,” said Birkett.
“This 10 year roadmap for our sport is the result of a long term effort in stakeholder consultation, to deliver a truly national approach from the grassroots through to our elite programs.
“We are excited to be heading into the new decade with a fresh approach in how we deliver water polo within Australia and working with our State Associations, Clubs and stakeholders, we have confidence we have a unified approach to meet our goals,” he said.
