West Australian National Training Centre update
Published Thu 24 Sep 2020
During the last seven months Water Polo Australia has held various discussions with Water Polo WA, WAIS and Clubs in WA to review the current situation and to identify opportunities to enhance Water Polo in WA, with a particular focus on developing National Training Centres for both the men’s and women’s program in Perth and developing a strong local Club competition.
The objective is to develop a sustainable model, that will support opportunities for players, coaches and referees from WA and the long term viability of all Clubs.
A discussion paper has been circulated to the WA water polo clubs for feedback and WPA is committed to facilitating an agreement with all stakeholders in WA, including WAIS who have been and continue to be a valuable partner to water polo in WA.
The first meeting of stakeholders will be held on Monday September 28 with the aim to find an agreed position for 2021 by October 31, 2020.
