Water Polo Australia engages refbook as the Officials’ Technology Partner

refbook has signed on as the Officials’ Technology Partner for Water Polo Australia and all affiliated state/territory bodies, providing a dynamic platform for the management of officials across the national competition network.

The online solution will provide the flexibility and functionality needed across Australian water polo, including the Australian Waterpolo League (AWL), and the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships.

The partnership will enhance water polo’s administration and assignment of technical officials through refbook’s dedicated technology platform, which has been designed by officials for officials.

As well as Water Polo Australia’s own requirements for elite and pathway officials’ administration, the refbook platform will be rolled-out to each affiliated state body. This will deliver a consistent infrastructure across all water polo officiating throughout Australia, providing a seamless journey for technical officials across different events and tiers.

refbook Head of Commercial, Jon Chapman, said the team at refbook was extremely excited to commence implementation of this leading partnership.

“Our discussions with WPA’s Executive and officiating teams have been extremely positive from day one. WPA is a progressive federation that sees the value of curating an ecosystem of specialist technologies for its sports administration, including officials,” Chapman said. “Over the partnership we’ll be working on some exciting projects to improve the data insights, performance tracking and technology integrations available for the federation’s technical officials.

Water Polo Australia CEO, Richard McInnes, said: “Anyone who has been involved with sport understands how time consuming and complex the management of availability, allocations, payments and assessments of officials is in sport - whether at the local club level or in the AWL.”

“The refbook platform has been designed by officials for the management of officials, so they have been able to identify and address the pain points through their own experience. We are now able to utilise their experience to improve the support we provide to our officials.”
