Squadi selected as Water Polo Australia’s new membership & competition management provider

17 Jul 2026

Water Polo Australia is pleased to announce a new partnership with Squadi to become the sport’s Membership & Competition Management services provider.

The partnership will see Squadi’s platform used to modernise how clubs, associations, referees and participants register, manage teams and deliver competitions across the country – providing an integrated, mobile-friendly experience designed to reduce administrative load and improve the day-to-day experience for the water polo community.

Squadi will immediately commence a white-label brand integration, followed by a test phase in early 2027, before the full rollout ahead of the 2027/28 season.

Squadi will be used by clubs, associations, team managers, referees and officials across Water Polo Australia’s competitions and programs, including the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships and national membership register.

What will Squadi provide?

  • Streamlined member registration and renewals
  • Faster, more complete competition and match results
  • A single integrated system reducing duplication for clubs and volunteers
  • An e-commerce solution that supports partner activations
  • A modern, mobile-friendly experience for administrators and participants

Water Polo Australia will provide a dedicated resource hub with how-to guides and training videos, as well as tailored sessions for club administrators, team managers and officials, and a dedicated support network during the transition period.

Squadi has also signed on as a National Supporter of the World Aquatics Water Polo World Cup Finals, including as the naming rights sponsor of the ‘Green and Gold’ lounge – an exclusive space that will be used to host corporate guests, business leaders, and dignitaries across the tournament.

Water Polo Australia CEO Tim Welsford said the partnership reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting its volunteer and administrator base.

“Grassroots are at the core of everything we do in Water Polo Australia, and with our strategic ambition to grow to 30,000 members by 2032 comes a need to evolve our digital systems.

“In doing so, we also recognise that making these tools as user-friendly as possible for the coalface of our sport is integral, and thank Squadi for their support in making this possible.

Marissa Cooper, Co-founder & CEO World Sport Action & Squadi said: “Water Polo Australia’s ambition to grow the sport at grassroots level is exactly the kind of challenge we love to support. This partnership is about giving Admins and volunteers back time so they can focus on the sport, while enhancing the sporting experience for every participant along the way. We’re proud to be working alongside the water polo community across Australia to make it happen.”

A full implementation and rollout project plan has been shared with State Members, and will be underpinned by a communication plan to guide clubs and members through the transition phase, with registrations for the 2027/28 season expected to open on the new platform.
