Competitions for everyone
Across Australia, hundreds of events and competitions are held throughout the year, catering to all levels and ages. From the Clubs network, to competitions run by the State & Territory Associations, as well as the National and International competitions managed by Water Polo Australia.

Water Polo Australia Events
Australian Waterpolo League (AWL)
Australia’s premier domestic competition, featuring a number of Olympians, international players, National squad members and the next generation of Australian water polo talent.
Australian Youth Water Polo Championships (AYWPC)
The biggest festival of water polo in the southern hemisphere, where teams from across Australia (and the world!) compete in 12&U, 14&U, 16&U and 18&U age groups.
National State Championships (NSC)
A performance competition for state representative teams, and national selection event, the NSC is an opportunity for the best athletes in each State to compete against each other for the National Title.
13&U National Development Carnival
A development-focused national carnival for Under-13 players, providing a first national competition experience.
International Competitions
WPA national teams compete in World Aquatics sanctioned events, World Cups, and international tournaments throughout the year.
National Water Polo Day
A nationwide celebration of water polo held in September each year. Promotes participation programs and community engagement at clubs and pools across Australia.
