More than 400 of Australia’s young water polo players will descend on Melbourne next week to compete for national titles at the 2026 National State Championships (NSC).
The NSC gets underway from Tuesday 29 September, bringing together the best 15&U and 17&U athletes from across the country for five days of state-versus-state competition.
The competition brings together state representative teams to fight for a chance of national glory. This year, a total of 32 teams have entered across the age groups with 448 players set to hit the pool. The event will see 150 coaches, managers, referees, table officials and delegates.
The tournament also serves as a Water Polo Australia selection event for the National Age Group Program squads, marking a key step on the pathway for the next generation of Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks and Aussie Stingers.
Matches will be played across five venues in Melbourne including Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC), Mentone Girls Grammar, Caulfield Grammar, Camberwell Grammar and Xavier College.
Every round game and medal match will be livestreamed on the Water Polo Australia YouTube channel so families, clubs and fans across the country can tune in from home.
