Water Polo Australia (WPA) has today released the Competition Framework that aligns with the newly launched Strategic Plan 2032+ Powered by Purpose.
The Framework provides players, coaches, parents, referees and administrators at all levels of Water Polo with an understanding of their overall journey within the sport.
The Competition Framework encompasses athletes from grassroots/participation all the way to the elite level of the sport with a proposed calendar of events through the LA 2028 Olympics campaign and culminating with the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
WPA CEO Tim Welsford said the Competition Framework provides clarity to the water polo community.
“Water Polo Australia is committed to supporting those coming through our pathways, and it is important to showcase the complete journey for all our stakeholders,” Welsford said.
“It is designed to provide clarity not just for players and coaches, but also for our greater community.
“This framework showcases each level of the sport, the reasons behind each event and the progression available to athletes leading through the next two Olympic cycles including LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032, which is very exciting.”
