Water Polo Australia confirms 2021 National State Championship dates and locations

7 Apr 2021

Water Polo Australia is pleased to confirm the dates and locations of the 2021 National State Championships.

The National State Championships form an important part of the National Competitions Calendar, with the best athletes from the 15U, 17U and 19U age groups going head to head competing for their state.

Western Australia will host the 19U Championships from 9-12 December, with the 15U and 17U Championships still going ahead in South Australia from 26-29 September as previously announced.

Water Polo Australia CEO Richard McInnes said: “The National State Championships will return to the water polo calendar in 2021, providing an opportunity for our up and coming talent to showcase their skills in front of selectors with National Age Group Program selection on the horizon.

“The National State Championships are a selection event, as per the National Competitions Framework that we released last year.

“Representing your State is something that always comes with pride and passion, and competing at the National State Championships will be an exciting time for the athletes selected,” he said.

The State Associations will work through a process to select and announce their teams for the  National State Championships in the coming months.
