Working Together to Protect Water Polo
Sport should be safe, fair and inclusive for everyone. We are committed
to protecting our sport and all participants.
Our Commitment
Water Polo Australia and our Member Organisations are dedicated to providing a safe, fair, and inclusive environment for everyone. We work closely with Sport Integrity Australia (SIA), the national coordination agency for sport integrity threats.
Integrity is a shared responsibility. We encourage all water polo clubs across Australia to lead the conversation on child safety and ensure all members are familiar with our safeguarding policies and the National Integrity Framework.
We are committed to protecting children and young people, ensuring they have positive and nurturing experiences free from harm.
A Safe Place to Speak Up
At Water Polo Australia, we provide a safe environment for you to raise concerns about behaviour you’ve witnessed or experienced. Whether you need to report an issue or have a specific integrity question, we are here to support our members and the health of our sport.
Safety first
If you are in Australia and in immediate danger or at risk of harm, call your local law enforcement agency or dial triple zero (000) immediately.
What is Sport Integrity?
Threats to a sport’s integrity can include competition manipulation and sports gambling, doping, the improper use of drugs and medicine and behaviours that impact people’s positive experience of sport, such as discrimination or abuse, including against children.
Integrity in sport means that participants, officials, supporters, and fans can participate in and enjoy sport, confident in the knowledge that they are part of a safe, fair, and inclusive environment.
All members and participants have an obligation to protect and maintain the integrity of sport, as well as the health and wellbeing of everyone involved. We work closely with Sport Integrity Australia (SIA).
We work closely with Sport Integrity Australia (SIA), the national coordination agency for sport integrity threats. We have developed a National Integrity Framework Factsheet with SIA.
